Submissions for Projects in Development Reopen One More Week


Following El Gouna Film Festival’s (GFF) announcement to revise the dates of its 4th edition due to the challenging conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic; CineGouna SpringBoard, GFF’s industry arm, has decided to reopen the submissions for projects in development one more week. Interested candidates still have the chance to submit their works till July 9, 2020. While the deadline for applicants with films in post-production is July 10, 2020. Entry form and complete information regarding eligibility for submission can be found on the festival’s website: www.elgounafilmfestival.com. The final results will be announced by August 15, 2020. Accepted projects will be reviewed by a committee of experts appointed by GFF, and selected on the basis of their content, artistic vision, and overall financial feasibility. The best project in development and film in post-production will each receive a cash award of US $15,000 and a CineGouna Platform certificate. In addition, participating projects stand to win other grants funded by GFF’s partners and sponsors. It is worth mentioning that over US $200,000 were awarded to the winning projects at the 3rd edition of CineGouna SpringBoard. Subject to the governmental regulations at the time, the festival is exploring possibilities of utilizing indoor and outdoor spaces as well as online activities, especially those that are related to CineGouna Platform, in order to offer a safe and productive festival experience to its guests and audiences. The 4th edition of GFF is set to take place from October 23 to 31, 2020. While the activities of CineGouna Platformwill run from October 24 to 30, 2020.
