1st Prize: "Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know…" by Chidananda S NAIK

Country: India | Year of Production: 2023 | Duration: 16 minutes

The first prize was awarded to "Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know…", a captivating short film by Chidananda S NAIK. This film tells the story of a village thrown into chaos when an elderly woman steals the rooster, causing the sun to never rise again. As the village grapples with this surreal predicament, a prophecy is invoked, leading to the exile of the old lady's family. With its unique narrative and cultural depth, this film stood out for its originality and storytelling prowess.


2nd Prize (Ex-Aequo): "The Chaos She Left Behind" by Nikos KOLIOUKOS

Country: Greece | Year of Production: 2023 | Duration: 33 minutes

Sharing the second prize is "The Chaos She Left Behind" by Nikos KOLIOUKOS. This Greek drama explores the turbulent life of Anna, a young woman whose aspirations to attend a music school in Paris are thwarted by her alcoholic father. The film poignantly captures Anna's struggle between her dreams and her dysfunctional family life, offering a raw and emotional portrayal of personal and familial conflict.


2nd Prize (Ex-Aequo): "Out the Window Through the Wall" by Asya SEGALOVICH

Country: United States | Year of Production: 2023 | Duration: 22 minutes

Also receiving the second prize ex-aequo is "Out the Window Through the Wall" by Asya SEGALOVICH. Set in present-day Russia, the film follows a cartographer who encounters a young man recently escaped from an adult psycho-neurological facility. This story delves into the challenges of adapting to a new reality and the unexpected connections that arise in the process. The film was praised for its sensitive handling of complex themes and its compelling character development.


3rd Prize: "Bunnyhood" by Mansi MAHESHWARI

Country: United Kingdom | Year of Production: 2024 | Duration: 9 minutes

The third prize went to "Bunnyhood" by Mansi MAHESHWARI. This short film explores the innocent world of Bobby, a young girl who is confronted with a harsh truth when her mother takes her on a surprise trip to the hospital. "Bunnyhood" is a touching and intimate exploration of trust and the challenges of growing up, distinguished by its tender storytelling and strong emotional impact.
